Public consultation and communication is essential to most land use planning and development projects. This exchange of information creates the foundation for trust and cooperation, which is critical for achieving meaningful results. Different perspectives can also lead to better projects.

We believe in public involvement processes that are transparent, accessible and inclusive. Providing convenient and innovative opportunities for stakeholder input at various stages can encourage community participation. Our consultation methods are designed to meet specific objectives and can be used to inform, identify issues/concerns, establish long-term vision, build consensus and generate commitment. For large-scale community surveys, we partner with an associate research firm.

We offer complete design, coordination and delivery of pubic consultation activities or stand-alone facilitation services for clients wanting a third-party facilitator. We can also develop and produce communication pieces to support project objectives and requirements. Our services include:

Recent projects include the following:

	Downtown Strategic Plan, City of Prince Albert. Conducted focus groups with a cross-section of community members to identify issues and opportunities; held workshops to produce a shared vision and priorities.
	Lower Townsite Area Redevelopment Plan, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. To build community buy-in, held focus groups and vision-building workshops, attended trade shows and distributed an information pamphlet and comment form to the community.
	Mountain View Region Vision Building Workshop, Mountain View County. Designed and facilitated a multi-stakeholder workshop that involved 8 municipalities and 55 participants.
	Affordable Housing Feasibility Study, Housing Industry Forum Edmonton. In co-design workshops with 72 residents, tested concepts for a large affordable housing project and administered a Housing Preference Survey.
	CityPlan Municipal Development Plan, City of St. Albert. Prepared and distributed a workbook outlining policy choices to the community, allowing hundreds of residents to participate in the project.
	Reeve's Task Force on Land Use Planning and Sustainable Agriculture, Red Deer County. Held focus groups with industrial, institutional and residential stakeholders to identify land use concerns related to agriculture. Public meetings throughout the County allowed community input before and after policy recommendations were developed.
